St. Andrew’s has a food pantry that operates one Saturday a month from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and assists the nutritional needs of the needy in our area.  To assist Laquita and Sue in this ministry, the following items are needed:

Food Items:

  • Cans of fruits and vegetables
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Spaghettios and ravioli
  • Canned meat or fish
  • Hot and cold cereals
  • Peanut butter
  • Jelly
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Muffin mixes

Toiletries or Personal Items:

  • Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Four-pack of toilet paper
  • Individually wrapped tooth brushes
  • Tooth paste
  • Disposable razors

The Rev. James A. McLaren, the second rector of St. Andrew’s, founded this mission in Detroit.  On the first Sunday of the month, we pass a second collection plate and donate the proceeds to assist the needy of Detroit.

During the year, we donate baskets for the children at Easter and Christmas to provide good cheer during the holidays.

If you would like to assist in this ministry, please contact Laquita.
